Emily...heres one idea...(mostly because I avoid the really hard stuff). You could use a ball cake pan, you know the ones used to make a soccer ball cake, and make it into the world instead. Then find an appropriatly sized airplane toy (I am sure you have none of those at your house) and place it on the cake where ever you want. Who is it for? You could write something cute on the cake or on the plate depending on if it is for your kids or Jeff. You are so creative I am sure you have lots of ideas. If I think of any more I will let you know!
The batman cake was super easy! I just did two 8 in rounds and yellow frosting. Then I printed the logo off of the computer the size I wanted, put wax paper over the logo, melted chocolate into a plastic bag, cut the corner and piped it on the logo, let it cool and then put it on top of the cake. I always have really grand ideas and then I usually find a way to make it just a little easier usually because of lack of time.
Cool Shanda... good Ideas. We are having an airplane birthday parth for both boys (we always do a dual bash) in September, and that will work great! I might even get a star tip, and decorate the World part that way.
Once you break down the batman cake, it sounds pretty easy... You are so talented Shanda.
Emily...Mostly I just steal good ideas from other talented people but thanks any way! So you got me looking at birthday ideas and I found some really great ones for an Airplane birthday on this site:
