Infant Visual Stimulation

I printed out these pictures for Talia when she was about 3 weeks old. She absolutely loves them! Talia will study them for an extremely long time. This morning the first thing she did was smile at her pictures like they are her friends. For anyone expecting a baby or with an infant you can download an adobe acrobat file or just copy the pictures right off the website. It only takes a few minutes and your baby will love it. I also took the images and made a small book to take to church. It is so fun to see what fascinates Talia!

The other day I went to check on Talia while she was sleeping and all I could see was her little hand. I about died because she is so cute!

Talia is 6 weeks old! 4-19-07

Here are the new stats...Talia weighs in at a whopping 9lbs! She is now 21 1/2 inches long and her head is 14 inches in circumference. It is pretty comical to notice that she is now around the size that Trenton (my nephew ) was when he was born.

Spikey Hair!!!

After Talia's diaper blowout and bath I decided to have a little fun with her hair. I had some extra lotion in my hands so I spiked up her hair. She has hair just like me...flat, flat flat! So by the end of the pictures it was already falling down. How fun it is to be able to play with her hair before she can complain too much. :)

Here is the story...

After church last Sunday Talia was sleeping in on our bed while Preston and I were getting dinner ready. Amid the various noises we were making while preparing dinner I thought I heard Talia fill her diaper. Well we were so far away from her that I figured there was no way we would have heard it but I went to check on her anyway. She was sleeping so soundly that I thought I must have been hearing things. Well we went about our afternoon and ate dinner and I had a good conversation on the phone with my parents and then it was about time to feed Talia. When I picked her up sure enough she had filled her diaper and much much more. Because I am a bad mom and I left her sitting in it for a couple of hours it had soaked through her onesie, her dress, the blanket she was swaddled in and the blanket under her. Because she had sat in it so long this was not a task a couple of wipes could handle. So we threw her in the tub and got her all clean. This is our biggest blowout to date. I am sure we will have bigger and more traumatic blowout experiences in the future but Preston and I are proud to say we have survived so far.

So now I will open up a discussion for all those mothers, fathers, aunts and babysitters out there...What was your biggest blowout experience????

I think something escaped out of the blanket! It was quite adorable to watch Talia try to eat her hands through the blanket. She was quite dismayed that her fingers would fit through the holes but not her whole hand.

This is almost all of the family who came to Talia's blessing. We are just missing Ann and myself. Ann's Antics...

Ann has many sides to her personality...sometimes she is super sweet and other times she is a spitfire! Here is an example of each: The bottom picture was when Ann decided she was mad about something and didn't want to be in the family pictures. She was pacing and kept saying "No want to pictures! No want to!" So I just took a picture of her anyway and made her laugh. Then she decided it was ok to be in the pictures. The top picture is when she decided she needed (and by need I mean it was an absolute necessity in her mind) to have a picture taken with Talia. Well, Talia was quite upseat with all the paparazzi but we gave her to Ann anyway and Ann held her so close, kissed her head and sweetly said "It's OK Tayeeya." and sure enough Talia was as calm as can be. Talia loves her Aunt Ann and so do we. :)

The Kids

Here is Gavin, Alyson, and Talia in their Easter best.
Alyson has been particularly fascinated with Talia. Every time she sees Talia she gets really excited and then vigorously signs "BABY! PLEASE!" over and over. Although when Alyson gets her she doesn't quite know what to do with her. It is very cute!

A Special Blanket

Happy Easter in Colorado Springs!

I can't say that it looks like spring but it was a wonderful day anyway! After ice, snow and a lot of cold all weekend this is what the church looked like on Talia's blessing day.

Daddy's Girl!

Preston loves to use the sling too. It is so liberating. We thought it was so cute how Talia has her hand on her daddy's chest. Such a sweetheart!
