Talia's Carousel Party - The Presents

Bubbles!

Talia LOVES this movie!!!  Thanks Grandma!
For the big gift we got her a rocking horse.  I found a great deal on Craigslist - $25!  And I just had to replace the main and tail and now Talia is in love!

and in case you were wondering...my monkey of a child learned to climb on and off that BIG horse all by herself by the end of the day.
Thank you to everyone who came...we had so much fun!

Talia's Carousel Party - Fire and Family

Here we have Grandpa Hickman, cousins - China, Aly and Brookie, and the boys Gavin and Milo

Talia's Carousel party - Little Bro

(March 16, 2009)  Grandma had fun giving Milo some Ice Cream, and Milo was quite insistent that she continue giving him ice cream.

Talia's Carousel party - the games

For games we had to to pin the tail on the donkey and I was so lucky to learn that my mom had saved this vintage pin the tail on the donkey game from my grandparents basement.  It had never been used so I laminated it and now I can save it forever!
All the kids played and then the grown ups got a chance.  Preston decided to make it harder by spinning me really fast.  Talia thought we were hilarious.  It was also cute to watch the girls try and help the parents and they couldn't understand why we were walking in the complete wrong direction.  Who says the adults can't have fun at the kid parties!

Here I am trying my best not to fall over because I was THAT dizzy
Preston made it look a little too easy but Talia totally cheated for him.  I wonder who she loves more? ;)

Talia's Carousel party - the favors

For the same price as a goody bag I found these awesome stick horses.  I personalized them by tying the first letter of the kids name on the front of the horse.
Here is little Lucy learning how to ride a horse.
We galloped round the Carousel
"Naaay!  Naaaaaay!"

Talia's Carousel party

Here I am blowing bubbles with Talia and Hallie while we wait for the rest of the guests.

Talia's Carousl/Horse party - the cake and decor

My mom made this awesome banner for me (and I have Milo and Gavin's names so I can use it for every birthday!)
I tried my best to pretty up my not so pretty porch and...
create a carousel picnic area.
I totally coped out on the cake because I had so many grand ideas but much less time and energy to bring those ideas to life but this is what I settled on and it worked out well.  Each kid got a cupcake and got to keep a little horse.

Talia's Carousel/Horse party - The Food

(March 14, 2009)  For Talia's 2nd Birthday I did a small friend party.  The theme was a carousel party so I chose food that might be found at a carnival or fair.  Bright colored soda, caramel apples, cracker jacks, licorice, veggies (not the normal carnival food but I had to put something healthy in there), corn dogs and fried chicken, oh and ice cream in fun cones.

my little MONSTER

(March 11, 2009)  Talia found this Sully costume that I got off Craigslist and had to wear it while she was watching Monsters Inc.  Such a funny!

Bathing Beauties

After the cake the kids needed a bath so Talia and Brooklyn got to take a bath together.  I caught a funny moment between the two of them.  (please excuse the partial nudity)

Happy Birthday to you!

(March 8, 2009) Talia singing along to the birthday song.  Ever since her birthday every time she sees a candle she asks to sing "happy bir Tayeea!"  It is pretty adorable.  She is also in her birthday dress that Lita made for her.

Happy 2nd Birthday Talia!

(March 8, 2009)  For Talia's Birthday I made a quick chocolate cake so we could sing "Happy Birthday!"  When Talia saw the cake she said "Cake! Hooray!"

catching up

Here I go...I am trying to catch up (March - May).  We will see how much I get done today! :)
