The Biggest Straw EVER!

On Saturday amid all the business, Preston and I stole a moment and had dinner at Panera Bread. I had the most amazing salad, and Preston got a strawberry smoothie with his meal. I was so fascinated by this straw! It was HUGE! I swear it was as if I was sucking on a hose. It was at least as big around as a nickel!

Talia has become increasingly interested in the food that we are eating so We let her suck on some bread. She absolutely loved it! I am not sure if I am ready to feed her food yet but I know it won't be too far off.

I am impressed that you let her have bread. I thought that I wasn't allowed to give babies under 6 months anything other than mom's milk, formula or rice cereal. When #2 comes I think things will be a little different that time around.

Oh you fine in giving her bread, she didn't consume enough to even cause a problem. More probably ended up on Preston than in her. That is the biggest straw I have ever seen. It reminds of Hogi Yogi straws. I don't like them when they are that big. YOu drink your shake too fast.

Cool straw! Talia looks as if she is enjoying the bread, and rightly so-- Panera bread is yum.

Oh and Liz, #2 is ALWAYS different than #1. I was so up tight with Josh, with Ben, not a care in the world... and you can tell in their personalities too... maybe a little rubbed off.
BTW, you keep mentioning #2... are these hints floating around Liz?

Em, It's just in the air... everyone I know (almost) is prego, it is always on the brain because it's everywhere I look. I swear to you, it seems like every other day I find out someone new I know is pregnant. The worst part is that it is tough to keep straight, I have an awful time trying to remember who is and who is not pregnant, & I think it is every woman's nightmare to be confused with being pregnant when you are not.

OK so in my defense I have been extremely careful! I am a believer that nursing is best for the first 6 months and I am thankful that I have had no trouble with it. Up until the bread all Talia had sucked on was a big carrot and piece of celery. I am pretty sure she only tasted the bread because she just nursed it. I don't think she actually ingested any. I am just glad that Grandpa Hickman hasn't started feeding her popcicles yet. That is too much sugar in my opinion. I try to walk the line between being an obsessive mom and too layed back.
