Milo at 9months

May 15, 2009 - My sweet boy is 9 months old and racing to catch up with his sister. Milo is still such a loving boy he has me wrapped around his finger! Milo is fast becoming a pro at walking.

April 23, 2009 - A vixen lives under our shed and has done for a while. This is the first year we have seen any babies. It has been a lot of fun watching them. Preston even fed the babies raw Bacon when the mom was away. Talia thought it was great. Like having a zoo in our backyard. We will enjoy them until it is time to plant the garden then we will have to put up a barrier to keep them out of the yard.

Easter Outfits

April 12, 2009 - A week before Easter I decided my kids had to have matching outfits. I found a pattern at my Mother-in-laws house and I had the fabric on hand. The only thing I had to buy was buttons for Milo's overalls. I am not a good seamstress but in moments like this I remember my mothers brilliance and often ask myself how she would go about a project like this. I was so proud of myself that for the first time I did it all by my self! I used a size 2 1970's pattern and I lengthened the skirt for Talia and cuffed the pants for Milo. It worked out perfect. Milo is shorter but wider than Talia so I figured the same size would work out just fine. Here is the finished product...

The Poop incident

April 9, 2009

Talia was supposed to be taking a nap and all was quiet until I hear pounding on the door. I figure I had better make sure no one was hurt so I open the door and before I could see anything I could smell it..."Oh no" I thought and looked at Talia naked holding her grubby brown covered hands up at me, "POOP!!!" So I swoop her up and put her in the tub after a good rinse of course. Then I thought before I got mad I better take a good picture. I can't say the photos really depict the true horror of it all but it is a good representation. Why did I take a picture of poop on the wall? you ask, well I needed a little sympathy from my friends out there. Anyway on with the story...After further investigation I found poop on 3 walls, the bed, the crib, the box of dress-up clothes and when I thought I was done I closed the door and found the largest portion on the door and the handle. With Milo strapped to my back I got Talia out of the tub, dressed and placed her on a chair where she was to stay until I finished cleaning. An hour later I told Talia she could get out of the chair and I gave her a big hug and she said with a whimper "No poo poo a walls." Well I have to say I still have a large pile of laundry to do but I survived!

April 3, 2009 - Talia just had to wear Gavin's sweatshirt to be just like her big brother.

April 5, 2009 I was busy for a moment and Milo was so tired. He climbed into Big Brother's arms, snuggled and fell asleep just like that. What a sweet couple of kids.

In other news...

March 31, 2009 - Talia and I took a swimming class. She LOVED it and learned a lot too. I was quite impressed because I thought it was just going to be the mom's playing in the water with the kids but there was a lot more structure and instruction. She came away with some great skills. We didn't take any pictures of her swimming but here are a couple of Talia in the lockers (which she got in trouble for climbing in) after swim class.

Michelle's "POP" baby shower

March 28, 2009 - I hosted a baby shower for my good friend Michelle. Once I decided on a theme I had a ton of fun planning and preparing for the shower. If you can't tell it was "She's about to POP!" So I Incorporated all things pop related. Including pop art, soda pop, popcorn, pop tarts, Popsicles, cakepop's, and 80's pop music! The music was one of my favorite touches. My crazy sister Kendra helped with the ideas and created labels for me to print and put on everything. To take a look at her creative blog, where my shower was featured go here.

March 27, 2009 - In preparation for a baby shower I was hosting Talia had to get in on the action. I was making a bunch of cakepops (this idea was created by bakerella but I am too lazy to put up the link to credit her. Just google it and you will find her. She was on Martha Stewart and everything.)

Talia waited patiently while I rolled and froze and dipped and sprinkled most of the balls. She did get a couple of small cake balls to play with to appease her but her final reward was to create a cakepop of her very own. (so the pictures are in reverse order but you get the idea) She had a lot of fun!

A Birthday Horsey Ride

March 16, 2009 - At the zoo Talia went on a horse ride. Let me remind you of her Birthday theme - HORSES! She was so excited! Because it was for her Birthday she got to feed the horse a carrot.

For the big gift we got her a rocking horse. I found a great deal on Craigslist - $25! And I just had to replace the main and tail and now Talia is in love!
