Kendra's family sang a medley of cute Christmas songs but I think that Tessa stole the show. I couldn't resist taking this video of her. It looks like she had planned to be apart of the talent the whole time. Tessa is such a cutie!

Christmas Eve

12-24-08 Ever since I can remember my family has always done a program on Christmas eve. This year each family was responsible for sharing something with everyone else. I have to say my family bombed. In the past I did something nice like play the trumpet or sing a song. Well I wasn't prepared so I tried to get Talia to do "5 little Monkeys" with me. She had been trying to steal the show the rest of the time but when it was our turn do you think she would stay past "5 Little Monkeys jumpi..." and she was off. Well maybe next year. I did threaten to show everyone how I carry two children and accomplish household tasks. To redeem myself I was put in charge of the Nativity this year. After throwing a few costumes on the kids I herded them into the kitchen and cued them at their part. They looked awfully cute and it wasn't too long so I think it was a success.

Talia was so funny because she would watch Lita and when Lita got up to speak to everyone Talia would stand up in front of everyone and blab some very important gibberish sometimes clearing her throat. She is such a copy cat.

This DVD player was a lifesaver on the drive and even to keep my little troublemaker occupied while we were getting ready for Christmas eve. (Thanks Uncle Foote for letting us borrow it)

I have to say I have a little crush on Marenda's sweet Kasen. He has such a cute smile and I love the blond hair!

Christmas Cookies

12-24-08 One of my favorite Christmas traditions is painting cookies. My sisters always made masterpieces but I was famous for my green angles. It was fun to do this year with all the grandkids. I think everyone that wanted to got to paint a cookie or two and there were some to spare. It was fun to help Talia paint cookies for the first time and I was quite proud that my cute husband joined in to paint a couple of cookies too.

Snow in Utah!!!

Here is my wet Talia after tons of fun in the snow. Lita decided it was time for her to come inside and get warm.

12-22-08 Despite the fact that we live in Colorado we haven't gotten much snow this season. And the snow that we did get didn't seem to merit serious snow play. I told Preston that when it did snow he would have to take Talia out in the snow. She loves the snow and it doesn't bother her a bit that it is cold. Gloves/Mittens were imposed by me but she wouldn't have cared. Talia loves to eat the snow and I watched her figure that out all by herself during Thanksgiving. She was quite proud to eat the snow and kept saying "more nnnnnow"(snow is said by air through her nose followed by the rest of the word). It was so much fun to have snow and time to kill so that the kids had a blast. Kendra and her family were in Utah too. Although they are not well equipped for the snow we made do. My mom helped us tape grocery bags on the kids feet and they dressed in many layers and had hours of fun.

My crazy mom is out taking pictures in her short sleeves. I was too chicken to go outside, or was it too lazy to put my shoes on, so I took pictures through the window.

Preston spent a lot of time building this snow fort. Kira also helped with filling in the cracks (she is very detail oriented). He has the expertise from growing up in Rawlins Wyoming. I think he is the coolest for building the snow fort. It was put to good use on Christmas eve when everyone was over and the nephews battled the uncles.

Milo news

Milo is now 5 months old and he is already a big mover! He is so sweet and patient but he is also very determined. So the news is that he is officially crawling. Not army crawling but real crawling. He is still pretty slow but he just started crawling Thursday the 8th, one day after he turned 5 months old. If that wasn't enough yesterday (Friday) he just started sitting independently. Crazy kid! Christmas Party 08

Preston, Milo and I were asked to be in the Nativity for the ward party. I was a little worried about Talia and almost dressed her as a donkey so that she could come up with us. She wouldn't go to anyone until the last minute she decided to let the Bishop hold her on his shoulders. She was a very good girl. Milo slept through the whole thing and made a very good baby Jesus.

Happy Thanksgiving 08

The busier my kids get the more I forget to get the camera out so this is all I have to document Thanksgiving. We had a great time at the Hickman house. Everyone was there except Ed and Kari. Here is beautiful Natalee with Milo

Milo up on all fours

Just before Milo turned 4 months old he started getting up on all fours. Crazy kid! Looks like he is going to be just as busy as his big sister!

Milo's 3 Month Pictures - November 6,2008

These are Milo's 3 month pictures. They were actually taken the day before he turned 3 months. At 3 months Milo was rolling both ways and spending a lot of time on his tummy. The photographer was surprised that he wanted to roll out of the basket that she liked to use for 3month old babies so she had to change her plan and put him on the floor. He is such a sweet boy!

Halloween 08

We celebrated Halloween two nights. The first night was on Halloween at Grandma & Grandpa Hickman's house. Talia went Trick or Treating in their neighborhood with her cute cousins Alyson and Brooklyn. It was just the right amount of houses for our 1 & 2 year olds. I was surprised how quickly Talia caught on to the Trick or Treating. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures on my camera but I will have to steal some from Grandma. Milo dressed up as a Jack O'Lantern.
The next Halloween celebration was actually on November 1st. Preston and I had our friends the Hinksons over. Hallie and Talia enjoyed dressing up one more time. And Cinderella and the Unicorn (aka FORSE!!! as Talia would say) had a lot of fun. What sweet friends! Hallie was so cute and kept saying, in a sweet enthusiastic voice, "HI friends!" She also seems to love Preston.

I have to say we have gotten lots of use out of the Unicorn costume. I think Talia pulls it out at least once a week. One night she thought it would be a good idea to go to bed in her costume. Mommy thought different. :)
